Great Bear Rainforest

The Great Bear Rainforest is a super big, super green place on the edge of the ocean in a country called Canada. It's like a giant, wild playground for animals! This forest is so huge, it's bigger than many countries you might have heard of.

It's a special kind of forest called a temperate rainforest, which means it gets lots of rain, making everything grow tall and lush. Think of it as nature's giant, wet blanket, keeping everything cozy and green!

This amazing forest has been around for a very, very long time, even before your grandparents were born! It's so old that some of the trees are like ancient giants, taller than a school bus and much wider. For many years, people were worried about cutting down too many of these old trees.

But guess what? In 2016, a big decision was made to protect most of this special forest forever. It's like giving the forest a big hug to keep it safe!

This rainforest is a super important home for all sorts of amazing creatures. The most famous resident is the incredible Spirit Bear, a rare white bear that only lives here! You can also find grizzly bears, black bears, and even whales splashing in the ocean nearby.

The trees are so tall, they create a shady, damp home for all sorts of plants and smaller animals too. It's a busy place, buzzing with life!

The Great Bear Rainforest is special because it's one of the biggest temperate rainforests left in the whole world. It's like finding a giant, untouched treasure chest of nature!
