Giovanni Pico della Mirandola

Giovanni Pico della Mirandola was a very special person who lived a long, long time ago in Italy. He was born in a fancy castle! Even though he was young, he was super curious about the world. This was like inviting everyone to a giant quiz show, but way more serious!

To get ready for his big debate, Pico wrote a famous speech called the 'Oration on the Dignity of Man'. It was like a superhero origin story for humans! He said that people are special because they can think and learn and choose what they want to be. He thought humans were amazing and could reach for the stars with their minds. This speech made him super famous and is still read today!
