Gangkhar Puensum

Gangkhar Puensum is the super-tallest mountain in the country of Bhutan. It's like the king of all mountains there! It stands at an amazing height of 7,570 meters, which is super, super high. That's taller than 100 school buses stacked on top of each other! It's so big, it even touches the clouds.

The name Gangkhar Puensum sounds special, and it is! In the language spoken in Bhutan, it means 'White Peak of the Three Spiritual Brothers.' Imagine three giant, snowy brothers standing side-by-side, reaching for the sky. That's what the people who live there think of this amazing mountain.

Even though people love climbing mountains, Gangkhar Puensum is special because no one has ever reached its very top! In the past, brave climbers tried, but it was too tricky. Now, the country of Bhutan has decided that mountains this tall are too important and too special to climb. So, they are protected!
