Friedrich Hayek

Imagine a person who loved to think about how the world works, especially how people buy and sell things. That was Friedrich Hayek! He was born a long, long time ago in a place called Austria. He became a super-famous thinker and writer who shared big ideas about freedom and how businesses should run. He even won a special prize, like a gold medal for smart people, called the Nobel Prize!

When Friedrich was a teenager, he was a soldier in a big war called World War I. Seeing all that fighting made him want to help make the world a better place. He thought that if people understood how economies worked, maybe they wouldn't have big wars.

So, he studied really hard at a big school called the University of Vienna. He learned so much that he ended up teaching at universities in different countries, like England and America!

Friedrich had a cool idea about how prices tell us what to do. Imagine you want to buy your favorite toy. If lots of kids want it, the price goes up! This tells toy makers, 'Hey, make more of this toy!' Friedrich thought this was like a secret code that helps everyone know what to make and buy without a boss telling them. He believed this 'market' helped keep things fair and free for everyone.

Friedrich Hayek wrote a very famous book called 'The Road to Serfdom.' It's like a warning story about what happens when governments try to control too much. He believed that when people are free to make their own choices, everyone does better. His ideas are still super important today for people who want to understand how countries and economies can be successful and fair.
