Where is Finland?

Finland is a cool country way up north in Europe! Imagine a giant puzzle piece shaped like a person standing with their arms stretched out. That's kind of where Finland is.

It's surrounded by the Baltic Sea and has lots of forests and lakes. It gets super snowy in the winter, perfect for winter sports! Finland is a land of a thousand lakes, with more water than you can count.

It's a beautiful place where athletes train for the big games.

Finland's First Olympic Race!

Finland first joined the Olympic Games way back in 1908. That's older than your grandparents' grandparents! They've been to almost every single Olympics since then, both the summer and winter ones.

They even hosted the Summer Olympics in their capital city, Helsinki, in 1952. That must have been a huge party! Finnish athletes have won so many medals, they have a whole room full of them, probably bigger than your classroom!

Medal Mania!

Finnish athletes are super good at sports! They've won over 300 medals in the Summer Olympics, mostly in running, jumping, and wrestling. Think of them as super-fast sprinters and super-strong wrestlers!

In the Winter Olympics, they've won almost 200 medals, especially in skiing. Imagine skiing faster than a car on a snowy hill! They've won medals in 50 Olympics in a row, which is a really, really long time.

Finnish Superstars!

Finland has sent amazing athletes to compete. They are known for their strength and speed. These athletes train hard to represent their country. Winning an Olympic medal is like getting the biggest gold star ever for your country. Finland's dedication to sports shows how much they love to compete and do their best on the world stage.
