Who Was Prince Ferdinand?

Once upon a time, in a land called Bulgaria, there was a prince named Ferdinand. He wasn't born there, but he came to be their leader. He was like the captain of a ship, guiding his country. He was the Prince of Bulgaria for many years, and then he became even more important, becoming the Tsar, which is like a king!

From Prince to Tsar!

Ferdinand's journey to becoming a leader was quite a story. He first arrived in Bulgaria and became their Prince in 1887. He ruled for a long time, and then in 1908, he took on an even bigger title: Tsar! This meant he was the ruler of Bulgaria, a very important job. He was in charge for many years, making big decisions for his country.

A Big Decision!

When Ferdinand was Tsar, Bulgaria made a very big decision. In 1915, during a time called the First World War, Bulgaria joined the side called the Central Powers. This was a huge event, and Ferdinand, as the leader, was part of this choice. It was a time of great change and challenges for Bulgaria and for him.

Leaving the Throne

After many years of leading Bulgaria, Ferdinand decided it was time for a change. In 1918, he stepped down from being the Tsar. This means he gave up his royal job. It was the end of his time as the ruler of Bulgaria, but his story as a prince and then a Tsar is an important part of Bulgaria's history.
