El Greco, which means 'The Greek' in Spanish, was a super talented artist born a long, long time ago in a place called Crete. His real name was Doménikos Theotokópoulos. He loved to paint, sculpt, and even design buildings!
He started his art journey in Crete, then traveled to Italy and finally settled in Spain. He was so unique that even today, people think his art is amazing and a little bit magical.

Then, he moved to Rome and later found his perfect art home in Toledo, Spain. He lived and worked there for many years, creating his most famous paintings like 'View of Toledo.' He died in 1614, leaving behind a treasure trove of incredible art.
