Djibouti City is like a special meeting spot right on the edge of the ocean, called the Gulf of Tadjoura. It's in a country called Djibouti, which is in Africa. Lots of boats and ships can be seen here because it's a very important place for them to travel. The weather is usually warm and sunny, perfect for playing outside, but sometimes it can get a little windy!

How This City Got Started!

A long, long time ago, in 1888, people from France came and decided this spot would be a great place for a city. They asked the local leaders, the Somali and Afar Sultans, if they could build here. So, they started building houses and streets, and it grew into the city we know today. It was once the capital of French Somaliland!
