Dark Enlightenment

Sometimes, people have big ideas about how the world should be. The 'Dark Enlightenment' is a group of ideas that doesn't like how our world works today. They think things were better a long, long time ago.

They don't like everyone being treated the same, and they don't like people voting for leaders. It's like they want to go back to a time when kings and queens were in charge and made all the rules!

These ideas started to get talked about more around the year 2000. People like Curtis Yarvin and Nick Land wrote down these thoughts. They were reacting to ideas from a time called the Enlightenment, which was all about fairness and everyone having a voice.

The 'Dark Enlightenment' thinkers believe that the way we live now, with lots of freedom and equality, is actually bad for people. They think it's making things worse, not better.

These thinkers believe that our modern world, which they call 'the Cathedral,' is making everyone think the same way. They feel like there's too much focus on being nice and fair to everyone, and not enough focus on strong leaders. They even have some really old and unfair ideas about different groups of people. They think these ideas are being hidden because they are not popular.

Instead of countries like we have now, they imagine special cities that are run like businesses. These cities would compete with each other to get people to live there. They would have very strong leaders, and people wouldn't have much say in how things are run.

It's a very different way of thinking about how a society should be organized, and it's very different from what most people believe today.
