Charles II of Spain

Charles II was the king of Spain, a sunny country in Europe! Spain has beautiful beaches and tall mountains. It's a big place, like a giant playground! The capital city, where the king lived, was called Madrid. It's a bustling place with lots of people and exciting things happening, kind of like a super busy school on the first day!

Charles II wasn't a very healthy king. He was sick for most of his life. This made people worry about who would be king after him. He was the last king from a very old royal family called the Habsburgs, who had ruled Spain for a super long time.

Because Charles II didn't have any children, everyone wondered who would become the next king. Two main people wanted the job: one was a prince from Austria, and the other was a young prince from France. This big question caused a lot of arguments and even a war between countries!
