Catherine the Great was a super important ruler in Russia, like a queen but even more powerful! She was born a princess named Sophia in a country far away. When she grew up, she moved to Russia and became empress. She ruled for a very, very long time, from 1762 to 1796. That's longer than many kids are old! She was known for making Russia a stronger and more exciting place.
