Brigach

Imagine a tiny stream starting high up in the Black Forest, a big, green forest in Germany. That's where the Brigach begins! It pops out of the ground at a place called St. Georgen, super high up, about as tall as 15 school buses stacked on top of each other! From there, it wiggles and giggles its way through the land, getting a little bigger as it goes.

Even though the Brigach is shorter than its friend, the Breg, it has a very important job. It flows through a city called Villingen-Schwenningen, saying hello to everyone. After traveling for about 25 miles, which is like walking from your house to the next town, it meets the Breg. Together, these two little streams join forces to become the famous Danube River!

The Danube River is one of the longest rivers in Europe, and the Brigach is one of its two 'parents'! Think of it like two friends holding hands to make a much bigger friend. The place where the Brigach and Breg meet is called Donaueschingen. It's like a special meeting spot where their journey together as the Danube truly begins.

Did you know the Brigach starts at a height of 3,035 feet? That's taller than many tall buildings! It's a special part of Germany's beautiful Black Forest. Even though it's small, it's a vital part of a huge river system that flows through many countries. It's a great example of how even small things can be part of something big and amazing!
