Book of Numbers

The Book of Numbers is like a diary from a very, very long time ago! It tells the story of a big group of people called the Israelites. They had just left a place called Egypt and were getting ready to move to a new home.

This book is full of them being counted, like taking attendance for a huge class, and getting ready for a big journey. It's all about their travels and what happened along the way.

This amazing story is super old, like older than your grandparents' grandparents! It's part of a really important collection of books called the Torah. Some pieces of this story have been found on old scrolls, and they are some of the very first writings ever found from the Bible. It was written down a long, long time ago, maybe even before castles were built!

One of the coolest things in the Book of Numbers is all the counting! The leaders had to count everyone, men, women, and children, to see how many people were in their group. They also counted all the soldiers who were ready to help them find their new home. Imagine counting more people than are in your whole town! They also camped in lots of different places, like a never-ending camping trip.

The Israelites were on a mission to reach a special land that God promised them. It was a long and sometimes tough journey.
