Benjamin Netanyahu

Benjamin Netanyahu, who many people call 'Bibi', is a very important politician in Israel. He was born a long, long time ago, on October 21, 1949. Imagine a time before video games or the internet! He has been the leader of Israel, called the Prime Minister, for more years than almost anyone else. He's like the captain of a big ship, guiding the country.

When Bibi was a young man, he was a brave soldier in Israel's army. He was part of a special team called Sayeret Matkal. After his army days, he went to a famous school in America called MIT, which is like a super-smart science and building school.

He even worked for a big company before deciding to come back to Israel and help lead his country. He also lived in the United States for a while when he was growing up.

Bibi Netanyahu became the Prime Minister for the first time in 1996. That's like winning the biggest election in the country! He was the first leader to be chosen directly by the people voting.
