Where is This Cool Place?

Baja California is like a super long finger of land sticking out from Mexico! It's the very tippy-top part of a giant peninsula. To the north, it says hello to the United States, and on its other sides, it's hugged by the big, blue Pacific Ocean and the colorful Gulf of California. It's a place with sunshine, beaches, and even some tall mountains!

A Land of Different Weather!

Even though it's one place, Baja California has different kinds of weather. In the northwest, it's kind of like a sunny day at the beach, but with less rain. As you go inland, there are mountains that get a little more rain, which is great for growing yummy grapes for juice and wine! Further east, it gets super dry and becomes a sandy desert, perfect for cacti.

Islands Galore!

Did you know Baja California has lots of islands? Some are like little dots in the Pacific Ocean, and others are bigger, floating in the Gulf of California. One of the most famous is Guadalupe Island, which is the very westernmost spot in all of Mexico! These islands are like secret hideouts for animals and cool places to explore.

People and Their Homes

Lots of people live in Baja California, especially in big cities like Tijuana, Mexicali, and Ensenada. Many people live near the coast or in the valleys where it's easier to grow food. They speak Spanish and have fun traditions. It's a busy place with lots of energy, especially in its biggest cities!
