Australia's Amazing Clock Adventures!

Australia is a HUGE country, like a giant playground! Because it's so wide, the sun rises at different times in different places. When the sun pops up in the east, it's still dark in the west. Way over on the other side of the country, Perth is on Australian Western Standard Time (AWST), which is three hours behind AEST. So, if it's 3 PM in Sydney, it's only 12 PM (noon) in Perth!

Sometimes, during the warmer months, some parts of Australia play a trick with their clocks called Daylight Saving Time. They move their clocks forward by an hour so there's more sunshine in the evening for playing outside! It's like adding an extra hour to your playtime. But not all of Australia does this, so it can get a little confusing!

Having different time zones helps make sure that when you turn on the TV to watch your favorite show, it's actually on!
