Asiana Airlines Flight 214

Asiana Airlines Flight 214 was a huge airplane called a Boeing 777. It was like a flying bus, but much, much bigger! This plane was on its way from South Korea all the way to San Francisco, California. It was a very long trip across the big ocean. The plane was supposed to land safely at the airport.

On a sunny morning in July 2013, the plane was getting ready to land. But something tricky happened as it came down. The plane was flying a little too low and too slow. It bumped into a wall near the runway, and the back of the plane broke off! Then, the plane slid down the runway and a fire started.

Even though it was a scary moment, many people on the plane were okay. Some people got hurt, and sadly, three people did not survive. The people who fly planes are called pilots, and they have a very important job. After the accident, smart people looked very carefully at what happened to make sure it doesn't happen again.

This was the first time a Boeing 777 airplane had a fatal crash since it started flying. It was also the first time a passenger plane crashed on U.S. ground in a while. By studying what happened, airplane makers and pilots learn how to fly even more safely. It helps everyone stay safe when they fly.
