Ashgabat is the capital city of a country called Turkmenistan, way over in Central Asia. It's like a special meeting spot between a giant sandy desert called the Karakum Desert and tall mountains called the Kopetdag range. It's also not too far from the border of another country, Iran. This location makes it a very interesting place to visit!

Ashgabat is famous for being covered in beautiful white marble! Many of its buildings are made from this shiny stone, making the city look super bright and clean. It's like a city made of giant, fancy building blocks. This special look started a long time ago when leaders wanted to make the city look grand and new.

A long, long time ago, in 1948, a super strong earthquake shook Ashgabat! It was so powerful that it knocked down many buildings. But the people of Ashgabat are very strong and worked hard to rebuild their city. They made it even more beautiful than before, using lots of that amazing white marble.
