Did you know there was never an Aranui 4? That’s because the number four is considered unlucky in China, where the ship’s founder came from. So, they skipped it and went straight from Aranui 3 to Aranui 5! It’s like skipping a number in a game because it’s a bit spooky.

Guess what? Aranui 5 was a super special hotel for surfers during the 2024 Olympics! It floated near Tahiti and housed 28 athletes from different countries. It was the very first time a ship was used as a floating Olympic village. How cool is that for a ship?
