Anthropogenic biome

Have you ever noticed how much of the world is built by people? We have cities, farms, and roads everywhere! These places, where humans have changed the land a lot, are called anthropogenic biomes. Think of them as Earth's neighborhoods that we've decorated and rearranged. They are like big puzzles made of different pieces of land that we use for living, growing food, and traveling.

Long, long ago, most of the Earth was covered in wild forests, grassy plains, and snowy lands. But as more people came along, they started building homes, clearing land for farms, and making paths. Over thousands of years, these changes grew and grew, turning wild places into the human-made places we see today. It’s like how your bedroom changes as you get older and add more toys and furniture!

These human-made places are super important because this is where most people live and get their food! Farms grow our yummy fruits and vegetables, and cities are where we go to school, play, and visit friends. Even though they are changed by us, these places still have plants and animals living in them, and we need to take care of them so everyone can be happy and healthy.

Think about a busy city with tall buildings, or a huge farm with fields of corn stretching as far as you can see. These are examples of anthropogenic biomes! They can be small villages or enormous cities. They are all places where human activity is the main thing happening, shaping the land and the plants and animals that live there. It’s our world, built by us!
