Anshan (Persia)

Anshan was a super old city, like a really, really old playground! It was in a place called Elam, which is now part of a country called Iran. This city was built a super long time ago, even before your grandparents' grandparents were born!

It was a big deal because it was one of the first cities where people lived together in a special way, like a big neighborhood with rules and leaders. It was nestled in some tall mountains called the Zagros Mountains.

People called the Elamites lived in Anshan first. They were like the first residents of this ancient place. Then, a group of people called the Persians came and made Anshan one of their important homes too.

Imagine if your house was first lived in by one family, and then another family moved in and made it their special spot! Anshan was like that, but for whole groups of people and even kings and queens who ruled over big areas.

Anshan was special because it was one of the very first cities that was like a capital, a main city where important decisions were made. It was a center for the Elamites and later for the Persians. Archaeologists, who are like treasure hunters for history, found lots of cool old things there.

These discoveries help us understand what life was like for people who lived thousands of years ago. It’s like finding a secret diary from the past!

Even though Anshan is an ancient city, we can still learn about it today! Scientists who study the past, called archaeologists, dug up lots of amazing things at a place called Tall-e Malyan. They also found stories about Anshan written on old clay tablets, like ancient text messages!

These clues help us piece together the story of this fascinating city and the people who called it home so many years ago.
