Achilles

Imagine a hero so strong and brave that everyone talked about him! That was Achilles. He was the star warrior for the Greeks in a super famous war called the Trojan War. He was like the best player on a sports team, but for fighting! His mom, a goddess named Thetis, wanted to make him super tough, so she dipped him in a magical river. But she held him by his heel, and that spot didn't get wet!

Achilles was amazing in battles. He could fight like nobody else! In the Trojan War, he was so scary to the other side, the Trojans, that they often hid when he showed up. He was super fast and super strong. But remember that heel his mom held? That was his only weak spot. It was like having a secret button that could stop you, but only if someone knew where it was and pushed it!

Even though Achilles was almost invincible, his story doesn't have a happy ending. During the Trojan War, a prince from Troy, Paris, shot an arrow. And guess where it went?

Right into Achilles' heel! This was the one spot that could hurt him. It was a very sad moment because the greatest warrior of Greece was defeated by his one tiny weakness.

It shows that even the strongest people can have something that makes them vulnerable.

Achilles is famous because he was the ultimate hero in one of the most important stories from ancient Greece, called the Iliad. People loved him because he was brave and strong. His story teaches us that even heroes have weaknesses, and sometimes, those weaknesses can lead to big problems.

The word 'Achilles' heel' is still used today to mean someone's biggest weakness. So, this ancient hero's story is still important!
