Imagine stories that people told long, long ago to explain why the sun shines or why thunder booms. These special stories are called myths! They often feature gods, goddesses, and amazing heroes doing incredible things.

Myths helped people understand the world around them before they had science to explain everything. They are like the first storybooks for grown-ups and kids alike, full of adventure and wonder.

Myths popped up all over the world, in different cultures, at different times. Ancient Greeks told stories about Zeus, the king of the gods, and Hercules, a super-strong hero. The Vikings told tales of Thor, the god of thunder, and his mighty hammer.

These stories were passed down from parents to children by telling them out loud, like sharing a secret. They were written down later, so we can still read them today!

Even though we have science now, myths are still super important! You can find them in books, movies, and even video games. Many of our favorite superheroes are inspired by ancient heroes from myths. When you see a company logo or hear a name like 'Nike' (named after a Greek goddess of victory), you're seeing a piece of myth! They show us that stories can last forever.
