A Nighttime Visit!

One night, in February 2019, Indian planes flew across a line that separates India and Pakistan. They dropped some things near a town called Balakot in Pakistan. It was very early in the morning, so most people were still asleep! This was a big deal because planes from one country hadn't flown over the other's land like this for a very long time, not since before many of your parents were born!

What Did They Drop?

India said they were trying to hit a place where some not-so-nice people were training. But when people looked later with special cameras from space, it seemed like the bombs didn't hit anything very important. It was like trying to hit a specific toy on a huge playground, but missing the toy and hitting the grass instead. This made people wonder what really happened.

Uh Oh! What Happened Next?

The very next day, Pakistan's planes flew back! They did something that caused one of India's planes to fall from the sky. The pilot was okay but was captured for a little while. It was like a game of tag, but with really big, fast airplanes! Sadly, another Indian helicopter also fell down that day, and sadly, the people inside didn't make it.

A Big Surprise for Everyone!

This whole event was like a big surprise for both countries. It made people talk a lot about what was happening. It was also a time when both India and Pakistan had very powerful weapons, like super-strong toys that can do a lot of damage if used. It showed how important it is for countries to be careful and try to solve problems peacefully.
