Xi'an

Imagine a big, busy city in the middle of China, like the heart of a giant country! That's where Xi'an is. It's in a place called Shaanxi province. The weather there can be hot in the summer, like a super sunny day at the park, and cold in the winter, like when you need a warm coat and hat. It's near some big rivers that help the plants grow.

Xi'an is super old! It was once the capital city for many emperors, like kings and queens, who ruled China a very, very long time ago. One of the most famous emperors, Qin Shi Huang, built a secret army of clay soldiers called the Terracotta Army to protect him in the afterlife. It's like he wanted his toys to go with him!

Lots and lots of people live in Xi'an, more than in many big cities you might know! People in Xi'an speak a language called Mandarin Chinese. They have yummy food, like noodles and dumplings, that are famous all over the world. They also have beautiful old buildings and city walls that are fun to explore.

People in Xi'an work in many different jobs. Some people work in factories making things, and others help visitors learn about the city's history. Because Xi'an has so many amazing old treasures, like the Terracotta Army, many people work in tourism, showing people from all over the world the wonders of their city.
