A Trip to the Moon!

In 1968, William Anders and his crewmates, Frank Borman and Jim Lovell, blasted off on Apollo 8. Their mission was to fly around the Moon! They circled it ten times, which is like driving around your town many, many times.

From their spaceship, they could see the whole Earth. It looked like a glowing blue and white ball hanging in the blackness of space. They even sent pictures and messages back to everyone on Earth, like a cosmic postcard!
