Wars of the Roses

Long, long ago, England had a big problem. Two powerful families, the Lancasters and the Yorks, both thought they should be the king! They were like two teams in a super serious game of tag, but instead of tagging, they fought battles. The Lancasters used a red rose, and the Yorks used a white rose. That's why people call it the Wars of the Roses!

After all the fighting, a new king named Henry Tudor came along. He was related to the Lancasters, and he married a woman from the York family. This helped bring the two sides together.
