Where in the World is This Place?

Warmian–Masurian Voivodeship is a big, beautiful part of northeastern Poland. Think of it like a giant puzzle piece in the country! Its capital city, where the leaders meet, is called Olsztyn. This region is like a giant playground, covering an area that's almost as big as some small countries. It's filled with lots of people, like a busy school with over a million students!

A Brand New Region, But Old Stories!

This special region wasn't always called Warmian–Masurian Voivodeship. It was created fairly recently, in 1999, like a brand new LEGO creation! It was made by putting together pieces from other older regions. Two of the most important pieces are called Warmia and Masuria. These names have been around for a very, very long time, telling stories of the past.

Friends and Neighbors!

Warmian–Masurian Voivodeship has lots of neighbors! To the east, it touches a place called Podlaskie Voivodeship. To the south, it's next to Masovian Voivodeship. It even has a neighbor to the north that's part of Russia, called Kaliningrad Oblast. It also has a special watery neighbor, the Vistula Lagoon, which is like a giant puddle connecting to the sea!

Why It's Super Cool!

This region is special because it's a mix of old and new. It has old stories from places like Warmia and Masuria, but it's also a new region created for modern times. It's a place where different parts of Poland came together to make something new and exciting. It’s like when you combine your favorite toys to invent something totally awesome!
