Vietnam's Olympic Adventure Begins!

Imagine a big, exciting race called the Olympics! Vietnam first joined this race way back in 1952. That's even before your parents were born!

They sent athletes to compete in many Summer Olympics, showing off their skills. Sometimes, countries change a little, and Vietnam did too. After becoming one country again in 1976, they kept sending their best athletes to show the world what they could do.

It's like a super fun international sports party!

Medals, Medals Everywhere!

Winning a medal at the Olympics is super cool! Vietnam won their very first medal, a shiny silver one, in the year 2000. A fantastic athlete named Trần Hiếu Ngân was amazing at Taekwondo. Then, in 2016, they won their FIRST EVER gold medal! Hoàng Xuân Vinh was a sharpshooter, hitting the bullseye in a pistol event. These medals are like trophies for being the best in the world at a sport!

Small Team, Big Dreams!

Vietnam usually sends a small team to the Olympics, about 12 athletes. That's like one classroom of kids! Even though the team is small, their dreams are HUGE. They train super hard to be the best they can be. It shows that even with a few people, you can achieve amazing things and make your country proud. They never give up, no matter what!

No Snow Sports Here!

Have you ever seen people ski or snowboard really fast? Those are Winter Olympic sports! But guess what? Vietnam has never sent athletes to the Winter Olympics. They focus all their energy on the Summer Games, where you see sports like running, swimming, gymnastics, and martial arts. So, when you think of Vietnam at the Olympics, think of sunshine and amazing summer sports!
