University of Göttingen

The University of Göttingen is like a giant brain-building factory in Germany! It's a very old university, meaning it's been around for a super long time, since 1734. That's even older than your grandparents' grandparents!

It's called the Georg August University, named after a king. This school is so important, it's the oldest one in its whole region of Germany. Think of it as the grandparent of all the schools in that area!

This amazing university started way back in 1734, thanks to King George II. He was the King of Great Britain and also in charge of a place called Hanover in Germany. He wanted a special place for smart people to learn and share ideas.
