Did you know umbrellas are super old? People in ancient Egypt, over 4,000 years ago, used them! But they weren't for rain back then.

They were big and fancy, used by important people like kings and queens to shade themselves from the hot sun. Think of them as fancy parasols, like a sun hat for your whole body!
