United States Virgin Islands

Way down in the warm Caribbean Sea, there are beautiful islands called the United States Virgin Islands. They are like colorful jewels floating in the blue water. The weather is sunny and warm all year round, perfect for playing outside! These islands are part of the United States, even though they are far away.

There are three main islands that are the biggest: Saint Croix, Saint John, and Saint Thomas. Think of them like three giant friends! There are also lots of smaller islands and tiny sandy spots called cays. All together, they are about as big as a large city park. The capital city, Charlotte Amalie, is on Saint Thomas.

A long, long time ago, these islands belonged to a king in a faraway country called Denmark. But then, the United States bought them for a lot of money, like buying a super cool toy! This happened many years ago, and now they are a special part of the USA.

Lots of people visit these islands because they are so pretty! Many people work in hotels and restaurants, helping visitors have a great time. Some people also work with boats, taking people to see the amazing ocean. It's a place where people enjoy the sunshine and the sea.
