Tripuri People

Imagine a group of people who have lived in a special part of India and Bangladesh for a very, very long time! These are the Tripuri people. They have their own special language called Kókborok. They are like the original inhabitants of a place called the Twipra Kingdom. Think of them as the keepers of ancient stories and traditions in their homeland.

For over 600 years, the Tripuri people were led by kings and queens from the Manikya dynasty. That's a super long time, much longer than most people live! Their kingdom was called Tripura. These rulers were very important and guided their people for many, many years. It's like having a family that has been in charge for more than 100 generations!

The Tripuri people are special because they have a unique culture and history that has lasted for centuries. They are descendants of the people who first lived in the ancient Twipra Kingdom. Their traditions and way of life are a treasure. Learning about them helps us understand how different groups of people have shaped the world we live in today.

In 1949, the Tripura Kingdom made a big decision. It joined the country of India. This was a new chapter for the Tripuri people. Even though the kingdom joined India, their rich culture and history continue to be celebrated. They are an important part of India's amazing diversity, like different colors in a beautiful painting.
