Tidore

Tidore is a super cool place made of islands in a faraway country called Indonesia. It's like a necklace of islands in the big ocean, west of a much bigger island named Halmahera. Some of Tidore's islands are small and round, like little green jewels.

One of the islands, Tidore itself, is shaped like a volcano! It's part of a bigger group of islands called the Maluku Islands, which are famous for spices like nutmeg and cloves.

Long, long ago, before cars and airplanes, Tidore was ruled by powerful kings called Sultans. They had grand palaces and were very important in their part of the world. Tidore was a fierce rival of another nearby island kingdom called Ternate. Imagine two playgrounds always trying to be the best! These kings traded special spices, making their islands rich and famous.

People in Tidore live on islands and the nearby mainland. They speak different languages, but Indonesian is the main one. Life on the islands is often close to the sea, with fishing being a big part of what people do. You might see colorful boats and houses painted bright colors. The islands are warm and sunny, perfect for growing tropical fruits and plants.

Many people in Tidore work with the sea, like fishermen who catch fish for dinner and to sell. Others might work on farms, growing delicious fruits and vegetables. Because Tidore is famous for spices, some people might be involved in growing or selling those too! The capital city, Sofifi, is on the bigger island of Halmahera and is a busy place where lots of important work happens.
