Thucydides

He was from a city called Athens, which was like a big, busy town back then. Thucydides wasn't just a thinker; he was also a general, which means he was a leader in the army. He saw a huge fight between Athens and another powerful city called Sparta, and he decided to write all about it so we could learn from it.

Thucydides wrote a famous book called 'The History of the Peloponnesian War.' It's like a super-long story about a giant war that lasted for many, many years between Athens and Sparta. These cities were like the two most popular kids in school, but instead of playing games, they were fighting for who got to be in charge. Thucydides wrote down everything he could find out about the war, like who did what and why.

He wanted to make sure people remembered this important time.
