Suleiman Obeid

Imagine a super-fast soccer player who could dribble the ball like magic! That was Suleiman Obeid. He was a forward and winger, which means he loved to score goals and run up and down the soccer field.

People called him the 'Palestinian Pelé' because he was as amazing at soccer as the famous Brazilian player Pelé! He played for the Palestinian national soccer team, which is like a country's dream team.

Suleiman Obeid played in big soccer games for his country. He scored his very first goal for the Palestinian team in a special tournament called the West Asian Football Federation Championship. He also helped his team try to qualify for even bigger games, like the AFC Challenge Cup and the World Cup! Playing for your country is a huge honor, and Suleiman did it with skill and passion.

Sadly, Suleiman Obeid's life ended too soon. On August 6, 2025, he was in Gaza waiting for help when he was tragically shot and killed by Israeli forces. The Palestinian Football Association shared this sad news. It's a reminder that even heroes face difficult times. He left behind his wife and five children, who must miss him very much.

Suleiman Obeid was more than just a soccer player. He was a symbol of hope and talent for his country. Even though he is no longer with us, his memory lives on through his amazing goals and the joy he brought to fans. He showed everyone that with hard work and dedication, you can achieve your dreams, even on a big soccer field.
