Styria

Styria is a super big state in the country of Austria, like a giant puzzle piece in the southeast! It’s so large that it’s the second biggest state in all of Austria. It has a long border with a country called Slovenia, and then it touches other Austrian states all around. The most important city, its capital, is called Graz. It’s like the main playground where everyone meets up!

Styria is a land of amazing sights! It has tall, pointy mountains that touch the sky, perfect for climbing and exploring. There are also lots of green forests and sparkling rivers that wind through the land. The weather can be sunny and warm in the summer, great for playing outside, and snowy and cold in the winter, perfect for building snowmen. It’s a place with lots of nature to discover!

Lots of friendly people call Styria home! They speak a language called German, but sometimes with a special Styrian accent. The capital city, Graz, is a busy place with lots of people, and it’s the second biggest city in all of Austria. Imagine a city bigger than your school, but much, much bigger! People in Styria love their traditions and enjoy living in this beautiful part of Austria.

People in Styria work hard and play hard! Many people work in factories making things, like cars or special machines. Others work on farms, growing yummy food like apples and pumpkins. Some people are scientists or doctors, helping others. Styria is also famous for making special kinds of metal and for its delicious pumpkin seed oil, which is a tasty dressing for salads!
