Long, Long Ago...

This place is where people first started living in Queensland a very, very long time ago. Explorers and new families came here first. They built towns like Brisbane and Ipswich.

They were busy people, cutting down trees for wood and growing yummy food. They built roads and railways to help them travel and share their goods. It was the very beginning of Queensland as we know it today, all starting in this sunny corner!

Fun Things to Do and See!

South East Queensland is famous for its amazing beaches, perfect for swimming and building sandcastles. You can also find amazing theme parks on the Gold Coast, with rides taller than a giraffe! Inland, there are mountains and forests where you might spot kangaroos or koalas.

People here love to surf, hike, and enjoy the sunshine. It's a place full of adventure and fun for everyone who visits or lives there.

Working and Playing Together

Lots of people in South East Queensland have jobs that help the place grow. Many work in big cities, but many also work with nature. They grow food like fruits and vegetables, or they work in places that make things. Tourism is also super important because so many people love to visit the sunny beaches and exciting cities. Everyone works together to make this a happy and busy place to live.
