Sky

The sky is everything you see when you look straight up from the ground. It's like a giant, invisible dome covering our whole planet! Sometimes it looks blue, sometimes it's gray with clouds, and at night it turns dark and sparkly. It's where birds fly, airplanes zoom, and where the sun and moon play hide-and-seek.

Have you ever wondered why the sky is blue? It's because of sunlight! Sunlight looks white, but it's actually made of all the colors of the rainbow. When sunlight hits the tiny bits of air in our sky, the blue light bounces around more than other colors. So, our eyes see blue everywhere! It's like a giant disco ball for blue light!

The sky is full of cool stuff! Clouds are like fluffy cotton balls floating way up high, and they can be white and wispy or big and gray before it rains. And after the rain, if the sun comes out, you might see a rainbow! Rainbows are made when sunlight shines through tiny raindrops, splitting the light into all its beautiful colors, like a giant colorful smile in the sky.

When the sun goes to sleep, the sky puts on a whole new show! It becomes a dark, velvety blanket sprinkled with millions of tiny, twinkling stars. You can also see the bright moon, and sometimes even other planets! It's like a giant, dark playground where the stars and moon come out to dance. It makes you wonder what's out there, far, far away!
