Shinjuku

Shinjuku is a super cool place in Tokyo, Japan, that's like a big city all on its own! It's located on the west side of Tokyo. Think of Tokyo as a giant pizza, and Shinjuku is a big, yummy slice on the side. It's not a country, but a special part of Tokyo, which is the capital city of Japan. Japan is an island country far away, across the big ocean.

In Shinjuku, you'll see super tall buildings that reach way up into the sky, even higher than a giraffe can stretch its neck! One of these buildings is where the leaders of Tokyo work to make important decisions. It’s called the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Lots of people work in Shinjuku in offices, shops, and restaurants, making it a very busy place for grown-ups.

Even though it's a busy city center, many people call Shinjuku their home. Around 350,000 people live here, which is more than the number of kids in hundreds of schools all put together! They live in apartments and houses, right in the middle of all the action. Shinjuku is a place where people live, work, and play, making it a very exciting part of Tokyo.
