Shawn Bradley: The Gentle Giant of Basketball

Shawn Bradley was a basketball player who was super, super tall! He was 7 feet and 6 inches tall. That's taller than a school bus! When he played, he could see over everyone on the court. He was like a friendly giant on the basketball court, making amazing plays.

Shawn was born in a place called Germany, but he grew up in a beautiful state in America called Utah. His dad was in the army, which is why he was born in Germany. Even though he was born in Germany, he is also a citizen of the United States. He’s a citizen of two countries!

Shawn was one of the tallest players EVER in the NBA, which is a big basketball league. Being so tall helped him block shots and grab rebounds. He played for three different teams: the Philadelphia 76ers, the New Jersey Nets, and the Dallas Mavericks. People remember him for his amazing height and his skills on the court.

Even though Shawn was a famous basketball player, he faced a very tough challenge. In 2021, he had an accident that made it hard for him to move his body. It was a serious injury to his neck. But even with this challenge, people still remember Shawn Bradley as a kind and inspiring person.
