Sesshū Tōyō: The Master Painter of Mountains and Mist

Imagine a super-duper artist named Sesshū Tōyō who lived a very, very long time ago in Japan. He was like a magician with a paintbrush! He didn't paint boring things; he painted giant, misty mountains that looked so real you could almost climb them. He also painted swirling seas and wise old trees. Sesshū Tōyō was born around the year 1420, which is over 600 years ago! That's older than your grandparents' grandparents! He was born in a place called Akahama, in Japan.

He learned to paint from other artists, but he had his own special style. He traveled to China and saw even more amazing art and nature, which made his paintings even better. He was a busy artist, always creating new masterpieces!
