Samarkand: A City of Wonders!

Samarkand is a super old city in a country called Uzbekistan, far, far away in Central Asia. It's like a treasure chest hidden in a big land. This city has been around for so long, people have lived there for thousands and thousands of years! It sits on a very famous old road called the Silk Road, where people used to trade yummy silks and spices from places like China all the way to Europe.

Long ago, brave explorers and clever builders made Samarkand famous. One very important leader named Timur made it his capital city. He built incredible places like the Gur-e Amir, which is his own tomb, and the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, which is so big it’s like a giant’s playground!

The most famous spot is Registan Square, surrounded by three huge, beautiful buildings that look like they belong in a fairy tale.

People in Samarkand are very creative! They are amazing at making beautiful things with their hands. They do fancy embroidery, work with shiny gold, weave soft silk, and carve wood into amazing shapes.
