Long, long ago, when people lived in small groups, they started to figure out that it was easier if everyone did different jobs. Some people were good at finding food, others were good at building shelters, and some were good at telling stories. These jobs became like 'roles.' Over time, as groups got bigger and more complicated, so did the roles.
