Rhodesian Ridgeback

Long, long ago, in a land called Southern Africa, people needed help hunting big, dangerous animals like lions! They mixed some of their own dogs with special hunting dogs that already had that cool stripe on their backs. These super-dog ancestors were strong and could chase after lions.

Over time, these dogs became the Rhodesian Ridgebacks we know today, perfect for protecting homes and families.

Rhodesian Ridgebacks are carnivores, which means they love to eat meat! In the wild, their ancestors might have hunted smaller animals. Today, pet Rhodesian Ridgebacks eat special dog food made with lots of yummy meat. They need healthy food to keep them strong and energetic for playing and protecting their loved ones. They are not picky eaters when it comes to their favorite meaty meals!

Rhodesian Ridgebacks are big dogs, and like many big dogs, they usually live for about 10 to 12 years. That's a good long time to be a best friend! They need lots of exercise to stay healthy, like going for long walks or playing fetch in a big yard.
