Rammarat (Ramkhamhaeng)

Imagine a king named Rammarat who lived a super long time ago in Thailand! He was born around the year 1237. He was a really important king because he helped make his country, Sukhothai, a wonderful place to live. He was known for being fair and smart, and he wanted everyone to be happy and safe. He was like a superhero king, but instead of a cape, he wore a crown and made super laws!

King Rammarat ruled Sukhothai a long, long time ago, from about 1279 to 1298. This kingdom was like a bustling city with people trading goods and living their lives. Rammarat wanted to make sure his people had good laws to follow, like rules for buying and selling things so no one cheated.

He also wanted to make sure people could practice their religion freely. He was a king who cared a lot about his people and their well-being.

King Rammarat is super famous because he created the first Thai alphabet! Before him, people wrote in different ways, but he helped make a special alphabet that Thai people still use today. It’s like he invented a new way for everyone to read and write stories and important messages.

He also made laws that were fair for everyone, which is a really big deal for a king. He wanted his kingdom to be a place of peace and fairness.

One of the coolest things Rammarat did was write down his thoughts and laws on stone. This is called the Ramkhamhaeng Inscription. It’s like a super old diary or rulebook that tells us all about his kingdom and his ideas.
