Rafał Trzaskowski

Imagine a captain of a big ship, but instead of a ship, it's the amazing city of Warsaw in Poland! That's kind of like Rafał Trzaskowski. He was born a long, long time ago, on January 17, 1972. He's a politician, which means he's like a helper for the country and its cities. He's also a scientist who studies Europe, which is a big continent with many countries!

Before becoming the mayor, Rafał Trzaskowski did lots of important jobs. He even worked in a place called the European Parliament, which is like a big meeting room for people from all over Europe. He also helped with making things digital, like computers and the internet, and worked with other countries. Then, he decided to help his own city, Warsaw, even more!

Rafał Trzaskowski became the Mayor of Warsaw in 2018. That means he's in charge of making sure the city runs smoothly. He got lots and lots of votes, more than half of them! This shows that many people in Warsaw thought he would be a great leader. He's like the head cheerleader for the whole city, cheering it on to be the best it can be.

Guess what? Rafał Trzaskowski even tried to become the President of Poland! That's like trying to be the captain of the whole country's ship. He did really well and got very close, but he didn't win that time. But he kept working hard as the mayor, and people voted for him again to lead Warsaw!
