Queen Elizabeth 2

The Queen Elizabeth 2, or QE2 for short, was a super-duper big ship that sailed the seas for a long, long time! It was like a floating city, carrying people across the ocean from the United Kingdom to America. It was built a long time ago, in 1969, and was a very famous ship for Cunard Line. Now, it's a special hotel in Dubai where people can visit!

This amazing ship was built in Scotland, a country that is part of the United Kingdom. It was made by a company called John Brown & Company. For many years, it sailed back and forth between England and New York City. It was so important that it was the main ship for Cunard Line for a long time, until a newer ship called Queen Mary 2 took over its job.

The QE2 was special because it was one of the last big ocean liners that sailed across the Atlantic Ocean regularly. It was like a fancy hotel on water, taking people on exciting journeys. It was also a very strong ship, even sailing to help in a war! After its sailing days, it was turned into a cool floating hotel, which is a really clever way to keep such a big ship around.

After sailing for almost 40 years, the QE2 retired in 2008. It then went to a place called Dubai. At first, people wanted to turn it into a hotel, but it took a little while. Finally, it was opened up as a hotel and a place to visit in 2018. So, even though it doesn't sail anymore, you can still visit this incredible ship in Dubai!
