The Pharisees: Super Smart Teachers of Ancient Times!

The Pharisees were like a special club of teachers and thinkers in ancient times. They were called the 'separated ones' because they tried to live very carefully by following all of God's rules. They believed everyone should learn and follow these rules too.

They were super important because their ideas helped shape Jewish traditions that are still followed today, even after a big temple was destroyed a long, long time ago.

Nope! The Pharisees sometimes disagreed with other groups, like the Sadducees. The Sadducees liked to follow the rules written in the big scrolls, but the Pharisees also believed in important teachings that were passed down by word, like secret instructions!

They also believed in things like coming back to life after you die, which the Sadducees didn't. It was like having different ideas about how to play a game!

Even though they were a smaller group, about 6,000 of them, the Pharisees were really popular with regular people. If the Pharisees said something, people listened! They were seen as very wise and fair. They believed their teachings came from Moses himself. This made them very trusted, kind of like how kids trust their favorite teacher to know all the answers.

Even though the Pharisees aren't around anymore, their teachings are still super important! They are the reason why many Jewish traditions and ways of celebrating are the way they are today. They helped create the foundation for what is now called Rabbinic Judaism. So, these ancient teachers left behind a big, lasting gift of wisdom for many people.
