Paetongtarn Shinawatra

Imagine a leader who is also a businesswoman! That's Paetongtarn Shinawatra. She was born a long time ago, in 1986. She comes from a very famous family in Thailand. Her dad and her aunt were both Prime Ministers before her! She studied hard at universities and then worked in businesses before deciding to help lead her country. She became the youngest Prime Minister ever in Thailand!

Paetongtarn comes from a special family. Her dad, Thaksin Shinawatra, was the 23rd Prime Minister. Her aunt, Yingluck Shinawatra, was the 28th Prime Minister. So, you could say being a leader runs in her family! She is the youngest child, and she followed in their footsteps to become a leader too. It's like having a whole team of leaders in one family!

In 2024, Paetongtarn achieved something amazing. She became the Prime Minister of Thailand! This means she was in charge of the whole country. She was also the second woman ever to hold this big job. She led a political party called Pheu Thai. It's a really important role, like being the captain of a giant ship, guiding everyone safely.

Sometimes, even leaders face challenges. In 2025, Paetongtarn had to step down from her job as Prime Minister. This happened because of a phone call that was heard by others. It was about a disagreement between Thailand and a neighboring country. Even though she had to leave her role, she made history by becoming the youngest leader and a woman in charge!
